Here is something that may have passed you by, back in 2020 a successful Kickstarter campaign was launched for a retro inspired 2D adventure game which is set to release on the NES, Switch, Megadrive and Steam as well as the Dreamcast. This game is called Reknum : Souls Adventure , set for release later this year.
Up to this point, we had no idea of the existence of this game and only chanced upon it with a general search across the Internet to find the Spanish based developer, Nape Games’ online store which not only houses Reknum, but also another Dreamcast release called Ploid, which is a sequel to Switch release, V.O.I.D. Here’s a rundown of that game from the website :

Ploid is the sequel to our video game V.O.I.D. published on Nintendo Switch and Steam. Omega must travel to the sacred ruins in search of the sacred disks files that contain the necessary information to be able to take the final step and evolve.
