‘The Textorcist’ Coming to Dreamcast

In what appears to be a change of pace from the usual JoshProd / Pixel Heart game releases, it would appear a new publisher is looking to bring a game over to the Dreamcast, Gamefairy who are known perhaps for releasing collectors editions of titles such as Super Meat Boy, Limbo and Gone Home are looking to release just 666 copies of Morbidware’s ‘The Textorcist – Story of Ray Bibbia to the console this April.

Pre-orders for the game open on March 4th and is described as a bullet hell typing game(!?) with this description lifted from the website where the game will be available :

Get ready for an electrifying mix between bullet hell and typing game! Dodge bullets while typing exorcisms at the very same time: turn on both sides of your brain and jump into the adventure of Ray Bibbia, a private exorcist who’s going to face the threats of a demonic outbreak and deal with his dark and sinful past at the same time!”

The game comes in fancy retail packaging and has a full colour manual in addition to an art book, instructions and slip sleeve. Should this venture be proven successful, Gamefairy would consider more DC publishing in future times.

What’s your views? Does this kind of game appeal to you? Are you keen to see another publishing house enter the fold with new content? Currently the game holds an 89% approval on Steam where it was released in 2019. If you loved Typing of the Dead, this may well be up your street.

Keep an eye here for pre-order information when it goes live in March :
