Another 5 titles heading to DC via JoshProd!

Dreamcast fans rejoice! Remember earlier in the year when JoshProd and Rush On Game brought us 5 PAL region games to add you our collections? Well, in an exclusive scoop announced by the guys over at the Dreamcast Junkyard this morning, it’s now known that another 5 games are coming with the possibility of even more later down the line.

What we have this time around is actually more daring one would say, last time we had 3 games that had already been released on Dreamcast (Dux 1.5, Alice’s Mom’s Rescue, The Ghost Blade) and two were semi-new to Dreamcast (Rush Rush Rally Racing Reloaded and Breakers) the line up of titles in this batch seem like really good choices and I’m sure many Dreamcast owners are going to want the whole set.

Zia and the Goddesses of Magic has already seen a release on the console recently, but we can’t help but feel it’s going to gain better exposure this time around, it’s not the most fantastic DC game out there, but well worth adding a PAL version to your collection rather than the generic original release.

Sturmwind again, has already seen a release on the console a few years back now, but if one title was deserving of a second (third, Dragonbox Shop handled the second) wind, it’s this one – perhaps one of the most impressive Dreamcast games in recent memory, if you missed out on some of the other editions, now is the time to grab it.

Flashback – this is a reworking of the classic 90’s game using the original source code to enhance the game slightly for the more powerful hardware, JoshProd actually got the licence to make this game, so that in itself is pretty significant.

Ganryu – A NeoGeo title which is being developed by Visco, much in the same way that Breakers was released on Dreamcast, we could see a trend of NeoGeo software finding a more affordable home on the system.

4X4 Jam – By far the most important release on the list here, this game is actually an existing game on PSP and mobile platforms, the source code is again being used to port it to Sega’s hardware and one would hope that we could see other mobile or handheld games coming across to fill out the Dreamcast’s software roster. It doesn’t look half bad either from what we’ve seen Tom at TDCJunkyard play of it.

So there you have it! New games to play on your console, you can catch us playing Dux 1.5 and talking a little about the PAL style version in the linked video, also there’s a link to the breaking story from The Dreamcast Junkyard and also the pre-order page on Rush On Game’s website which will go live on August 4th 2017, the games are said to retail for around 30 Euros each and no doubt there’ll be a bundle like the first wave of games.×4-jam-flashback-ganryu-head-up-new.html

Neo XYX release date announced.

The radio silence on upcoming Dreamcast shooter, Neo XYX has finally been shattered. The hotly anticipated new release by NG:Dev.Team, the company behind Fast Striker (2011), Gun Lord (2012), Last Hope : Pink Bullets (2009) & Last Hope (2007) is set to be released in December 2012. The company has been adding improvements to the game in the time between the first look video and present day and as such they have added full animation to everything that moves within the game, also a new 16-bit inspired intro has been added to the game.

The developers announced their release slate yesterday with all their upcoming Neo Geo and Dreamcast software in the statement below :

“[NGDEV] Newsletter Q3/2013
Dear customers,

we got a lot request recently about our yet to be delivered products.

Here is an overview:

*** NEO XYX / NEO Zaikuso MVS ***

There was radio silence about this for a long time, sorry for that. We should have done a newsletter earlier. But we worked hard on the game in the meantime. Besides heavily working on the game play aspects, we also used the last 4 month to double the amount of graphic details in the game. Like a real NEOGEO game deserves everything that moves is now fully animated.
We raised the MEGS count from initial 202 to 264 MEGS. The current version is way way better then what we showed in the last trailer.

The graphic artist is currently designing a 16 bit style short but sweet intro.
After this intro is finished we go into final beta testing and then in production. Production takes around 14 days.
The PCBs and shockboxes are already on stock, the wood shells will arrive within the next 7 days. Most of the printing material is already finished too.

We will be able to announce the release date in October and show a new trailer.

*** NEO XYX Dreamcast ***

As usual we will start porting after we shipped the MVS version to make sure the DC version gets the latest updates. As we are highly experience with porting it will be relative fast done.
The goal is here to ship in December.

*** Gunlord NEO GEO AES ***

Our source for the snapcases is confident to have them in latest 4 weeks. According to him they are still hold in Canadian customs (production was done in overseas) but the deal to get them is closed soon.

We will then ship them ASAP with inserts to you.

*** Fast Striker NEO GEO AES ***

Production for Fast Striker AES starts as soon as we have confirmation of the snapcases.
It takes 6 weeks to ship the first carts then.

*** Reprints MVS ***

Shipping of all reprints is done after Fast Striker AES was shipped.
Our goal is to wrap this all up in 2013.

*** The future ***

We will try to handle these things better in the future and start pre orders more close to the shipping date.
There will be always cases where this does not work though. If we have an idea to improve the game vastly late in development we will pursue it. Like we did with NEO XYX. The quality of the final product is more important to us than early shipping.
Big companies can solve these situations by throwing money at it, but we can’t. We throw time at it

Best regards,

Dreamcast Today will report more on the game as we move closer to the release date. In the meantime, the game can be pre-ordered here :
