NEO XYX delayed into January 2014

As you may have gathered already, the Dreamcast port of NEO XYX has been delayed from December 2013 and will now be released in January 2014.

According to NG:Dev.Team, production at the CD pressing factory is currently at maximum capacity, had the game started pressing now the delivery wouldn’t be received until December 23rd which means the game would be in players hands no sooner than January anyway.

The team have said that they will use the extra time to improve the DC port with a second portrait screen mode with GPU scaling options as well as other improvements.

This may surely come as a blow to those looking to play a new game on their machine before Christmas but since the delay is being used to improve the console version, I think we can let NG:Dev.Team off the hook.

The full statement is here :

"Dear customers,

we hoped to be able to ship NEO XYX Dreamcast before the winter holidays. But we need to move the release to January.

The new console port features such as portrait mode need more time and our CD printing factory is already at production limit. Even if we would finish today, we would not make it before the Dec. 23th.

We will use the extra time to improve the DC port and add a second portrait screen mode with GPU scaling and a few other new console port options.

This affects the following products:

NEO XYX / ZAIKUSU DC Collector Edition [CE]
NEO XYX / ZAIKUSU DC Limited Edition [LE]
NEO XYX / ZAIKUSU DC Regular Edition [RE]
Newcomer Bundle DC 2013

We will announce the release date in January.

Best regards,
NG : DEV . TEAM "
